A study, by International Data Research Development Inc., indicates that man-machine interface techniques will be in use by the mid-1990s. This includes the use of human microchips or biochips for direct-computer communications links. Users are interested in operator-to-computer interfaces that are inexpensive and efficient. This is being provided through the development of new applications and inexpensive hardware and software. Product developments include laser scanners, voice recognition chips, robots and microprocessor based equipment that accept voice comands.
