GMSI helps IRS extend after hours network support
Article Abstract:
The IRS has strengthened its relationship with Bethesda, MD-based Global Management Systems Inc (GMSI) by assigning the latter to provide after- hours network support services in a new contract worth more than $1.6 million. The contract extends through 1998 and will increase the amount of existing support services already being provided by GMSI to the IRS. It provides for GMSI engineers to be on-site daily from 6 am to 6 pm and on- call GMSI technicians to cover the hours from 6 pm to 6 am.

IBM taps Australia for tech support center
Article Abstract:
Computer giant IBM Corp has opened an Asian-language support center for its low-end consumer products in Brisbane, Australia, in Apr 1999. The center will also expand its operations to accomodate calls from Japan for all IBM's PC-related products starting July 1999. The Brisbane facility is also slated to handle technical support in other Asian languages, including the Cantonese and Mandarin dialects of Chinese.
