Iomega Buz
Article Abstract:
Iomega's new video-capture card, Buz, is an inexpensive full-frame, full-motion M-JPEG card that doubles as a fully functional Ultra SCSI adapter. Priced at only $199.95, the Buz card can capture only rectangular pixels at 720-by-480, 352-by-240, or 176-by-120. At 720-by-480 the image quality of Buz is very good, producing strong colors and sharp lines with minimal artifacting. The internal and external 50-pin narrow connectors are BIOS-based and can support as many as seven devices. Included in Buz are a pair of RCA audio jacks, an S-video I/O as well as a handy breakout module for composite. Iomega's biggest flaw is in offering Buz for Windows 95 with 16-bit drivers, which can create problems for 32-bit programs.
