Who Rules the Waves?

Article Abstract:

Systems must be understood in order to apply operational research methods. System description is vital. A method of system description, the Influence Diagram (ID), is developed. The ID algorithm is presented. Stages include recognition of key variables, finding the principle flow modules and influences controlling them, and the behavioral flows. Quantitative analysis is given. Diagrams are included.

The 460 pounds sterling Iomega 2GB Jaz removable media drive has an average transfer rate of 7.3 megabytes. Jaz is easy to use and extremely portable although the omission of an internal fan can lead to the drive slightly overheating. The 200 pounds sterling Syquest SyJet removable media drive has an extra flap which prevents dust particles from contaminating the drive.

Freediver experiences shallow water blackout

Article Abstract:

Divers must avoid hyperventilating when freediving. Hyperventilation artificially lowers blood CO2 level. Low blood CO2 levels and the effect of increased pressure can induce shallow water blackout. Freedivers must dive with a buddy and must have adequate rest between dives.
