Article Abstract:
Plans to introduce a range of innovative house building techniques to the UK have been unveiled by a group of housebuilders known as the Amphion Consortium. The group plans to import ideas which are currently used throughout the world, such as prefabricated timber shells from Japan and timber panels which are popular in the Netherlands. The aim of the project is to develop low-cost house building techniques which are particularly suitable for the domestic market.
