Rank carve up tipped to follow Teare's departure

Chief executive, Andrew Teare, has resigned from his post at Rank after profits fell by 20% for the third fiscal quarter. Teare had been chief executive for 2.5 years. It is forecast that parts of the Rank organisation will be sold off. The Deluxe video duplication business may be the first to go and nightclubs and Rank's share in Universal Studios may follow. Attempts to find a new chief executive are underway.
