British DMA will run country's telephone preference services
Article Abstract:
The British DMA has been awarded a government contract to run the telephone preference service (TPS) in the UK. The service allows consumers to opt out of receiving calls form telemarketers. Consumers who want to opt out must call the TPS to get their names removed from telemarketers list, while telemarketers must check with the TPS before making unsolicited calls to prevent facing possible legal actions.
