Poop! Stupid! Idiot! Kids' thoughts with COPPA

Article Abstract:

The 1998 Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which took effect in Apr 2000, was met by harsh criticisms from its intended beneficiaries. The law, which bans the collection of information from children under the age of 13 by online service companies, resulted in the removal of membership priveleges in some Web sites for children falling below the age limit. The Law was meant to protect these children from being exploited by unscrupolous online services firms.

BTB test confirms no frills preference

Article Abstract:

Connect Direct's business-to-business (BTB) direct mail test for Sunnyvale, CA-based Impresse Corp, an e-commerce services portal targeting printing professionals, further established that what works to consumers does not apply to business professionals. The BTB test only obtained a 6% response on 30,000 pieces sent across the board. Although the mailings were done in two, one with color and one without, the results were almost discernible.
