Complaints spur BulkRegister to rethink campaign

Article Abstract:

BulkRegister.com of Baltimore, MD, has stopped a telemarketing campaign after receiving a number of complaints from consumers and after being sued for violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. The law does not allow pre-recorded phone calls to be made by marketers to residential phone lines for business purposes. BulkRegister declared that its telemarketing campaign was aimed at reaching businesses after hours but that the calls reached consumers at home, some of whom voiced their complaints against the firm.
