Textiles: non-crimp fabrics fly high
Article Abstract:
Non-crimp fabrics (NFC) have both the easy deposition of fabrics and the mechanical performance of unidirectional composites, and have distinct advantages in terms of production and performance over ordinary fabric. The multi-layered and multi-angular feature of NFCs presents designers with the choice of a number of layers, orientations and fiber types. They are versatile and easy to handle due to their high levels of drape and stability although thicker materials and those with many orientations are difficult to handle. A two-layer cloth has a high deposition rate and takes the same time as a woven cloth of equivalent weight per unit area.

Drawing in the public
Article Abstract:
Several UK cities, such as London, Birmingham and Liverpool want to set up architectural museums to provide information on town planning, urban architecture, economic development, tourism and public art to the public. The Arts Council, Royal Institute of British Architects, The Urban Design Group and many other groups are working together. The Building of Bath Museum was opened in 1992 in the former 18th century Countess of Huntingdon's Chapel. Stimulus has come from other European cities who have established architectural museums, such as Paris, Frankfurt and Copenhagen.

Can we all get along?
Article Abstract:
California stands to benefit immensely from a society that supports and embraces diversity instead of fighting it. Citizens from different cultures can benefit the state because they are as energetic and ambitious as the dominant white groups, and are therefore crucial to creating a skilled workforce that will fuel the economic engine of California in the future. If those in power continue to obstruct the growth of other cultural groups, minorities would be forced to cluster within themselves instead of working for the common good.
