Raymarine, formerly known as Raytheon Marine Co, introduced four members of its management staff at a press conference held at the Miami International Boat Show in Feb 2001. The company's four new executives include CEO and Pres Rick Kane; VP for Marketing Stuart Thompson; VP for Production Keith Wansley; and North American Sales VP Lyle St Romaine. Raytheon sold its marine electronics business to a management consortium, with backing from venture capital firm Mercury Private Equity.

Lowrance cited for innovation

Lowrance Electronics Inc of Tulsa, OK, has won the best-of-show award in marine electronics innovation at the American Sportfishing Assn's ICAST Show held in Chicago, IL, in Jul 2000. The company was recognized for its liquid crystal-color illuminated (LCX-16CI) color sonar and GPS mapping unit. Lowrance claims that its LCX-16CI features greater depth penetration and color viewing on a screen designed to display images in unfavorable light conditions.
