Using enhancements for increased profit

Article Abstract:

There are certain ways on how enhancement information can be used to improve the segmentation of mailing lists that will result in more profitable direct mail campaigns. Combining enhancements will take direct mail campaigns to very specific market segments. Enhancements can also be used to increase the response rate of marginally responsive mailing lists. Exchange relationship lists with enhancements will have higher profitability, provided demographic and lifestyle overlay data are included.

Conventional direct marketers as well an Internet-based marketers must begin cooperating on a strategic level in order to reap the full benefits of the available technology. This partnership should begin with the sharing of information between the list brokers and the direct mailing services. The list brokers are in a unique position to provide direct mailers with mailing lists that feature a selectivity that is vital in a fragmented market.
