Fit for action
Article Abstract:
Constructing health and fitness clubs requires a wide range of construction and architectural skills. This sector is potentially very lucrative for construction consultants and contractors, but those involved in the sector will also have to meet very tough client demands. Many out-of-town new-build health and fitness clubs are being constructed across the UK, but consultants and contractors can also derive considerable benefits from the refurbishment of office space and installing facilities in hotels and retail centres.

Raynsford's new marker
Article Abstract:
The UK Labour government has handled the construction industry ineptly, according to the Conservative spokesman for planning, housing and construction, Nigel Waterson. The system for processing housing planning applications will be seriously affected by the introduction of sequential approach assessment, claims Waterson, who is extremely proud of his Conservative background. Waterson claims many of the Labour government's ideas were originally Conservative proposals which have been poorly adapted.
