International building codes should benefit RSI contractors

Article Abstract:

Builders and commercial roofing, siding and insulation industry contractors will most likely benefit from the efforts of the International Code Council (ICC) to unify and simplify building codes across the nation. This single set of model codes will regulate all areas of building design and construction. The work of the ICC may also cement the leadership of the US in developing and adopting comprehensive and coordinated international codes and standards.

A not-so-harmonic convergence

Article Abstract:

Roofing contractors and consultants have traditionally looked upon each other with mutual suspicion, but trade associations are trying to establish a more harmonious working relationship. Contractors and consultants alike agree that the main difference between them is differing interpretations of specifications. Some observers, however, say most of these differences can be settled by opening up lines of communication.
