MarineMax net dips 10 percent

Clearwater, FL-based MarineMax Inc posted a 10% drop in its net sales for 1st qtr FY2001 that ended Dec 31, 2000. MarineMax Inc reported 1st qtr 2001 revenue of $84.8 million, compared with $93.5 million for the same period in FY2000. The drop resulted from a 12% decrease in same-store sales, partially offset by $3 million of revenue attributable to new stores. The retail chain reported a net loss for the FY2001 quarter of $648,000, compared with net income of $477,000 in the FY2000 quarter.

Drop in PWC volume affects Bombardier
Article Abstract:
Bombardier Recreational Products, a division of Montreal, Quebec-based Bombardier Inc, had a slight decline in revenues for the fiscal year ending Jan 31, 2000. The boat dealer has only posted revenues of $1.5 million, compared to the $1.6 million reported for fiscal yeaar 1998. The slight drop in earnings is found to be caused by declines in sales of personal watercrafts and snowmobiles.
