MarketSoft spends $50G to gain $45M
Article Abstract:
MarketSoft Corp, a Lexington, MA-based developer of Internet marketing software, disclosed that it only spent $50,000 to secure a $45 million funding. CEO Greg Erman claimed that he saved the company more than $4 million by dealing directly with investors, instead of hiring an investment broker or agent to represent the company. Investors who contributed to the funding were American Express Financial, Putnam Investments and J and W Seligman and Company Inc.

Creaxion offers Web-based marketing suite

Marketing agency Creaxion has unveiled a Web-based suite of direct marketing applications for small and medium-sized businesses. The Click Creaxion generates prepackaged direct mail concepts, including letters, coupons and postcards. The application also allows users to upload customer lists or to purchase new lists from Click Creaxion. A bar code comes with each direct-mail piece, enabling business to monitor campaign effectiveness.
