OSHA revises recordkeeping rule
Article Abstract:
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has revised the rule covering the system used by employers in monitoring and recording workplace injuries and illnesses. The rule will simplify the method utilized in recording musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), replacing a system in which MSDs were recorded using different criteria for various injuries. The new rule also clarifies the definition of restricted work or light duty and makes it easier to record those cases.

ICAA gets 'burned' by Dateline NBC
Article Abstract:
The insulation industry claims to be misrepresented over a segment aired by Dateline NBC on loose-fill blown insulation. According to the Insulation Contractors Assn of America (ICAA)'s Mar/Apr 2001 newsletter, the report focused on deceptive or deficient insulation installation practices in new and older homes. Dateline reporter Bob McKeown allegedly misrepresented ICAA's position when he said that ICAA Exec Director Michael Kwart seemed to assign blame to everyone but contractors. The segment left many steamed over the lop-sided report on loose-fill blown insulation.
