Avon teams with Roche to tap consumer health market

Article Abstract:

Cosmetics direct seller Avon Products Inc is teaming up with health and drug manufacturing giant Roche. The partnership involves the development of a new global line of vitamin and nutritional supplements that are targeted at women. The firms have not yet developed an actual marketing strategy although it is expected that Avon's door-to-door global sales network would be part of the program. The agreement is expected to help Roche extend its reach into the consumer health arena while Avon will get an exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the new line of products.

Novartis leverages Gerber name with new wellness line for infants

Novartis Corp of Summit, NJ, has launched an advertising and marketing campaign to promote its debuting line of Gerber infant care products. The nationwide campaign, dubbed Gerber Wellness, includes testimonials and baby healthcare tips from Gerber spokesman and pediatrician Dr Alan Greene conceptualized to convince parents to patronize Gerber infant products that include baby shampoos and washes, tooth and gum cleansers, diaper- rash lotions and vitamin drops.

Internet appliance marketers plan to raise some iBrows

Boundless Technologies Inc of Austin, TX, and Internet Appliance Network (IAN) of New York have formed a partnership in the creation of a product that offers a one-to-one marketing tool that promotes distinctive branding in addition to making it easier for consumers to access the Internet. The device, which was introduced by Boundless Technologies in Nov 1999, combines the features of Boundless Technologies' iBrow Internet appliance and IAN's direct marketing technology.
