Petshealth Insurance Agency of Canton, OH, is awaiting regulatory approval for a national campaign that will promote new health policies for America's 160 million dogs and cats. CEO Michael Dunlap intends to create a database for each of the five demographic niches the program will reach. They are young professionals, childless couples, familes, empty nesters and those over 70. Test mailings reportedly generated more than 20% responses from veterinarians wanting to join the marketing campaign and 10% from pet owners. Petshealth policies will work similar to most medical plans, paying 80% of medical expenses above a $100 deductible.

Polk debuts FastPath Modeling tool to help mailers

The Polk Co. introduced its FastPath Modeling tool, which enables mailers to make faster construction of state-of-the-art models and delivery of scored lists. Polk list products such as TotaList, Buyers-By-Mail, High-Tech Connect and The Lifestyle Selector among others may employ the FastPath, which is developed to prompt better turnaround time for Polk's Customer Predictive Analysis (CPA), Response Predictive Analysis (RPA) and Matrix models. FastPath was created to provide high-level analysis by leveraging the company's core model-building efficiency with Lifestyle Selector across every Polk list product.

MySoftware offers list alternative

MySoftware (Palo Alto, CA) is set to unveil a line of direct marketing software for small-office, home-office (SOHO) businesses and lists of names that can be had at more affordable rates. The products are meant to fill a niche and take advantage of the fact that 22 million SOHO businesses are currently underserved by the database marketing and list community. The company's list acquisition Web site, MyProspects, will allow SOHO business to buy lists containing as few as 500 names and at rates within their marketing budgets.
