Retail Armageddon
Article Abstract:
The Trafford Centre, Manchester, England, cost over 600 million pounds sterling to build. It was opened in Sep 1998. The retail centre includes a cinema complex with 20 screens, a swimming pool, a casino and a restaurant which can seat 1,600 customers. The retail area has been designed to resemble Victorian shopping arcades. The car park has space for 10,000 cars. There will be no more large out-of-town retail developments built in the UK, once the Bluewater Park in Kent, England, is completed.
