Cancer research center chooses coal tar roof
Article Abstract:
AlliedSignal Inc Commercial Roofing Systems' Millenium coal tar-based membrane system was specified by Peckham Guyton Albers and Viets (PGAV) for the roofing design of the new Stoweres Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City, MO. PGAV opted to use the coal tar-based polymer enhanced system because of its durability and coal-flex properties. The system, with its gray-green natural slate color, appears similar to Vermont slate of the olden days.

Silicone coating
Article Abstract:
Rhodia Silicones has introduced the Rhodia 4000 silicone coating system in the US, for use in spray polyurethane foam roofing (SPF) systems that use silicone emulsion technology. The Rhodia 4000 is a water-based system that offers superior adhesion to SPF materials and cures as quickly as other solvent-based coatings. The product is particularly suited in California, where solvent-based coatings emit VOCs in the 150 to 300 g/liter range.
