Sony goes after sci-fi fans with 'Hollow Man' campaign

Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment is promoting the movie 'Hollow Man' with science fiction enthusiasts through a CD-ROM campaign. The company is distributing more than 30,000 CD-ROMS to visitors of comic-book and sci-fi trade shows and viewers of other sci-fi movies. The CD-ROMs contain a trailer for 'Hollow Man,' behind-the-scene footages and a link to the movie's Web site. The recipients of the CD-ROMs will be asked their e-mail addresses and names once they click through the movie's Web site.

Showtime looks to boost subscriber base

Showtime Networks will unveil an integrated direct marketing campaign to increase subscriptions and promote its new digital offerings. The campaign, which will last for more than three months, will include a 30- second direct-response TV spot, direct mailings, outbound telemarketing, local and national radio spots, outdoor advertising and a promotional offer. Subscribers who submit two months of Showtime bills will get a $20 gift certificate from Sharper Image.

QVC, Target agree to market Diamonique Jewelry in stores

QVC Inc has formed a partnership with Target Corp for the saled of Diamonique line of jewelry in all Target retail locations. Target will sell the Diamonique jewelry through display cases with the tag line 'Diamonique Exclusively from QVC.' The retail chain will also promote the jewelry in its national circulars and through in-store signs. On the other hand, QVC will start airing promotions that will coincide with the in- store launch by Apr 2001.
