Allstate expands reach with InsWeb deal

Northbrook, IL-based Allstate Insurance Co has started marketing its automobile, homeowners, renters and condominium insurance on its InsWeb Corp's Web site in Mar 2001. Allstate initially has its services on InsWeb for Illinois residents. However, it expects to expand the services to 15 states by Jun 2001, with renter insurance available in select states. The company also plans to launch homeowners and condominium insurance on the comparison-shopping site by early 2002.

Infotopia rolls out infomercial

Article Abstract:

Boston, MA-based Infotopia Inc has launched the long-form infomercial for its fitness system, called the BodyRocker, in Jan 2001. The infomercial is co-hosted by product inventor Dean Tornabene and actress Morgan Fairchild. A test run of the infomercial in mid-December was used by the company which declared that some of the media used for the test produced $3 in revenue for each dollar of media purchased. The BodyRocker retails for $199.95.
