UPS buys iShip service from Stamps.com

United Parcel Service of America Inc has acquired the assets of multiple- carrier shipping service iShip from online postage vendor Stamps.com in May 2001. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Santa Monica, CA- based stamps.com explained that the sale was part of its efforts to refocus the company on its mailing and shipping service. Meanwhile, UPS has begun offering three new services that it obtained through the acquisition of outside companies.

MindArrow buys e-commerce provider
Article Abstract:
MindArrow Systems, a provider of direct digital marketing software and services, has announced in may 2001 that it will acquire Control Commerce, a New York-based technology provider of e-commerce and customer acquisition solutions. With the acquisition, MindArrow Systems obtains the rights to Control Commerce's technology, Virtual Kiosk. The deal is expected to increased by the middle of Jun 2001.
