WML plans to buy two architects
Article Abstract:
Architectural firm Whinney MacKay-Lewis is seeking to purchase one or two architectural firms. It is particularly looking for practices of between 30 and 40 employees, probably specializing in hotels and education. The acquisitions would continue to operate independently and would retain their own names. The purchases would be part of expansion plans by both Whinney MacKay-Lewis and its parent company WML following the latter's flotation on the Alternative Investment Market in Mar 1998.

Railtrack wants you
Article Abstract:
Railtrack, the UK provider of rail infrastructure, plans to invest 16 million pounds sterling on building projects up to the year 2008. Railtrack uses a limited number of contractors for its construction programme although it would like to encourage new firms to bid for contracts. Contractors face strict requirements for working on Railtrack projects, which often favour large firms over small and medium sized businesses. One way to encourage new firms is to develop partnerships.
