Article Abstract:

The UK government has issued a consultation policy on reducing energy consumption which will have an impact on the building industry. Buildings will require more insulation and suitable heating systems. Fittings for energy bulbs will become mandatory. The objective is to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide.

Article Abstract:

The system proposed in the Kyoto Protocol will involve all countries being told how much carbon dioxide it can produce. If less carbon dioxide is produced, that country will be entitled to carbon credits. Firms may be able to trade carbon credits to other firms that have not reached pollution targets.
