Quartz Analog Watches: Is Time Running Out on Pricing Stability?
Article Abstract:
Traditional manufacturers such as Timex, Sharp and Casio expect prices for analog watches to fall as the number of imported products grows. Sixty million watches are expected to be sold at retail in 1984. Average prices for quartz analog watches are expected to fall from nineteen to fifteen dollars. Suppliers are planning on selling analog watches with more features for the same amount of money. Seventy seven percent of watches sold in the United States are priced under fifty dollars and this number is expected to increase.
