Doing the health insurance tango - your guide to the right steps
Article Abstract:
Australian health insurance plans offer a variety of benefits that potential patients must evaluate to get the coverage that best suits them. The opportunity to pay excesses in exchange for lower premiums is one way to lower costs. Financial incentives include government rebates that reimburse those who subscribe to health insurance plans. Private hospital services may offer more amenities, but not necessarily better care. Therefore a plan that covers public hospitals may be more practical.

Can your genes affect your insurance?
Article Abstract:
Life insurance companies are discriminating against people by not insuring them based on positive tests for genes of certain disorders. Australia's Investment and Financial Services Association prohibits life insurance companies from forcing potential clients to take genetic tests. There is currently no insurance industry standard on the handling of genetic information.
