Computer telephony integration (CTI) is a current hot issue in industry and is of great potential benefit to businesses. However, it is a complicated concept and cannot be explained simply. CTI gives users the ability to link computer systems via telephone systems in the form of an invisible link which transmits data from computer-based local area networks through telephone systems. The main drawback to the use of CTI is cost.

One neglected area of the telecom market that is worth considering is second-hand systems, offering reconditioned equipment at reduced costs. Another benefit of choosing a second-user system is time, with dealers able to deliver and install pre-owned equipment in much less time than a new one.
