A survey into the reliability of household appliances up to six years years old has revealed that answering machines ranked among the most reliable products. Washing machines and washer-driers are among the most unreliable appliances. The survey covered a variety of household appliances including televisions, video recorders, camcorders, mobile phones, fax machines, answering machines, washing machines, tumble driers, washer driers, vacuum cleaners, microwave ovens and dishwashers.
