Voice processing in cellular telephony

Article Abstract:

An increasing trend among cellular network operators is the provision of voice processing on their telephones. Users of cellular phones can program their handsets to divert incoming calls to their cellular voice box. Vodafone and Cellnet both offer voice messaging services on their networks, including international messaging. Costs for the services are expensive, with a subscription service charging some 5 pounds sterling a month, plus a small fee for retrieving messages.

Cellnet

Article Abstract:

Cellnet offers both analogue and digital network tariffs, and its Business First scheme offers prices 20% less than its consumer rates. For business users there are two analogue tariffs, Occasional and Frequent Caller. Its digital tariffs are billed per second, and 'free' inclusive minutes are included in the package. The services it offers include personal messaging, call display and call access, Short Messaging Service and mobile data services.
