Pattern of mantle thinning from subsidence and heat flow measurements in the Gulf of Suez: evidence for the rotation of Sinai and along-strike flow from the Red Sea
Article Abstract:
The Gulf of Suez was a flat shelf lying close to sea level prior to rifting but is a young rift with relatively simple kinematics. A combined analysis of the subsidence, uplift and heat flow at the Gulf of Suez reveals significant differences along the length of the rift. Tectonic subsidence and heat flow in the norther portion of the rift are close to predictions of uniform lithospheric extension that terminated in the middle Miocene period. Other results of the study are discussed.

Fission track thermochronology of the Wind River Range, Wyoming: evidence for timing and magnitude of laramide exhumation
Article Abstract:
The low-temperature thermal history of the Wind River Range using fission track dating of apatite and zircon is determined. Results show that cooling in the Wind River Range commenced by 85 Ma, with most rapid cooling occurring between 57 and 62 Ma. Moreover, the majority of basement deformation in the Wyoming andColorado foreland was between 75 Ma and 49 Ma. Finally, timing, magnitudes and rates of exhumation are varied spatially in the Wind River Range.
