Bernard Vonnegut 1914-1997

Bernard Vonnegut was born in Indianapolis, IN, on Aug 29, 1914 and died in Albany, NY on Apr 25, 1997. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology With a BS in chemistry in 1936 and a PhD in physical chemistry in 1939. He worked for the GE Research Laboratory from 1945-1952 before transferring to Arthur D. Little Inc, where he developed a convective mechanism for the generation of thunderstorm electric fields. He then taught at the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center at the State of New York in 1967.

Sharp, John D. 1929-1997
Article Abstract:
Retired Air Force Col John D. Sharp was born on Aug 19, 1929 in Philadelphia, PA, and died in Holland, PA, on May 27, 1997. He earned a BS in mathematics from the Florida State University (FSU) in 1953, a BS in meteorology in 1954 from the Pennsylvania State University and a MS degree in meteorology in 1962 from FSU. In 1953 Sharp joined the Air Weather Service where he held several jobs in a span of 21 years.
