Distribution of titanium and the rare earth elements between peridotitic minerals
Article Abstract:
The titanium and rare earth content of minerals from peridotite xenoliths were determined to study the titanium distribution which reflects that of high field strength elements. Titanium distribution in relation to the rare earths was found to vary with the composition of the rock analyzed and with the mineralogy. Further, it was postulated that the coefficient of distribution for rare earths and titanium is not due to the equilibrium of mineral-melts. The results were compared against models of melting in the mantle and mineral equilibration.

REE-bearing minerals in a Ti-rich vein from the Adamello contact aureole (Italy)
Article Abstract:
An analysis of REE-bearing minerals in a Ti-rich vein found in the Tertiary Adamello batholith is presented. It is shown that zirconolite, aeschynite-(Ce), titanite and apatite were dicovered to be minor or accessory minerals in the vein. In addition, an abundance of idiomorphic fluor-apatite and textural relations among apatite, REE-bearing minerals and hydrous silicates support the theory that F- and PO3-4 as highly probable complexing ligands.

The influence of crystal field stabilization energy on Fe(2+) partitioning in paragenetic minerals
Article Abstract:
Using electron microprobe analysis, researchers evaluate the crystal field stabilization energy of rock-forming minerals, focusing on the partitioning of Fe(2+). Research indicates that the Fe(2+) partitioning behavior is more highly affected by geometrical factors rather than crystal field stabilization energy.
