Long-term perspectives on giant earthquakes and tsunamis at subduction zones
Article Abstract:
Geological evidence from subduction zones allows understanding history of earthquakes and tsunamis and can help in anticipating future catastrophes. This natural warning system is used for building codes and tsunami planning in countries like, USA, Japan and Canada where according geological evidence there is always risk of earthquakes or tsunamis.

Volcanic seismology
Article Abstract:
The developments in volcanic seismology include new techniques to improve earthquake locations that have changed clouds of earthquakes to lines for high frequency events and small volumes for low frequency events. Seismicity at volcanoes is triggered by large earthquakes, although mechanisms are still uncertain.

Real-time seismology and earthquake damage mitigation
Article Abstract:
Real time seismology is a practice in which seismic data are collected and analyzed after a significant seismic event. The results are effectively used for postearthquake emergency response and early warning.
