Comments on "Open letter to Ben Santer." (the need for scientific ethics)(Letter to the Editor)

Article Abstract:

The integrity and openness of the process of making Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports must be improved to avoid exaggerated statements, bias and accusations. There can be differences in opinions and disagreements regarding meteorological theories but these differences must be expressed according to scientific ethics and common courtesy. Statements, both scientific and personal, must be thoroughly substantiated.

Comments on "Choice of South Asian Summer Monsoon Indices"

Article Abstract:

A comparison is presented between the zonal wind shear index and the meridional shear index for usefulness in predicting monsoons in southern Asia. Based on circulation and convection data, the two indices are deemed appropriate to be used separately for specific regions.
