Article Abstract:
The paleobiogeographic model which proposes that the Alexander terrane of Alaska is located in the Northern, rather than Southern, Hemisphere in the Late Silurian-Early Devonian, was developed within a Late Silurian paleogeographical context. It thus suggests the existence of an equatorial-subequatorial marine corridor, the Uralian Seaway, between Laurentia, Siberia and Baltica. The alternative continental reconstruction for Silurian continents is not congruent with this model.

Article Abstract:
The garnet-chlorite-amphibole assemblage is capable of existing at pressures ranging from 2 to 3GPa as long as the temperature remains low enough for the continued stability of its hydrous phases. It is logical to assume that the precursor assemblage could have existed in a hydrous environment with pressure that is less than or equal to 3GPa and a temperature of about 725 degrees Celsius. It is possible for that hydrous environment to be in the crust or in the mantle.
