Government contracting in Dubai
Article Abstract:
Dubai Law No. 6 of 1997 covers the regulation of government department contracts in the Emirate of Dubai. The law also covers the tendering procedure for such contracts. The law applies to contracts generating income for the department and contracts representing an expense to the department. Criteria for contracts include UAE nationality for individual contractors, UAE ownership for company contractors and provision of supporting documents establishing the nationality of the potential contractor.

U.S. sanctions on India and Pakistan
Article Abstract:
US Pres Bill Clinton's issuance of Presidential Determinations regarding India and Pakistan has provoked the automatic levying of economic sanctions on both countries. The sanctions require the discontinuation of all foreign assistance, save for humanitarian aid. Moreover, sales of defense articles, defense services and design and construction services covered by the US Arms Export Control Act will be terminated.
