India is promoting themselves as a destination for contract manufacturing and electronic component production. India is trying to lure multi-national companies to take advantage of low cost technical and skilled manpower and access to high volume production technology. India provides a good base for contract manufacturing of printed circuit board assemble, discrete semiconductor packaging, epitaxial wafers, solar cells, surface mount passive components and consumer goods such as appliances, television and computers.
