Algeria's growing market for packaging equipment; imports still fall far short of market needs

Article Abstract:

The distribution of consumer goods in Algeria is often hampered by a lack of packaging materials, but the government has begun a program to promote the development of packaging technology which should result in increased demand for equipment. Imports of equipment have traditionally come from France, Italy and Germany, but there should be room for American companies to expand their 1.4% market share if a bilateral financing arrangement can be implemented.

Kuwait's pharmaceuticals market: well-established rules on imports

Article Abstract:

A review of the Kuwait health service is presented. The government have introduced laws for the importation of drugs and pharmaceuticals from overseas. It is anticipated some $133 million worth of pharmaceuticals made by foreign firms will be imported into Kuwait during 2001.

Demand for pharmaceutical imports growing 10% a year

Article Abstract:

A review of the pharmaceutical market in the Palestinian Area of the West Bank and Gaza is presented. Some 30% of goods are imported from countries outside Israel. The total market is worth around $75 million per annum.
