Data watch: research data in the economics of education

Article Abstract:

There is a wide range of empirical research developed by economists to assess the impact of education on the welfare of individuals or society as a whole. The projects include assessments of the impact of competition between schools, and of finance reform in education. Data is available in three categories: on the educational institutions involved, on outcomes for individuals, and from school experiments and reforms. Public use versions of some data sets can be obtained using the web.
