The Third Way integrates practical economic practices with social values to alleviate inefficiency and poverty. Its principals include investments in education, international cooperation, encouragement of private savings, and devolving social services into mutual and voluntary associations.

New, successful theories for Australia's socioeconomic reform will continue to reserve a role for the government. While the government's participation should not be on the same scale as other state-run models, neither should it be entirely absent. By incorporating tenets of both progressive liberalism and radical free market policies, Australia can develop a socially responsible form of enterprise.
