Feminism and economics

Article Abstract:

All forms of feminism share the common concern of providing remedies to the disadvantages historically born by women. Within the discipline of economics, this concern has been manifested in the form of efforts geared towards encouraging the advancement of women within the profession. Recent feminist theory tends to question many basic values and assumptions that support current economic practice. However, the alternative suggested is not a biased one. An improvement of all economics, regardless of the gender of the practitioner, is the alternative proposed.
