Article Abstract:
Economic developers now acknowledge that business retention and expansion is an important component of any economic development program. Existing business development has become a must in economic development initiatives rather than just an option as it had been in the past. The 'Economic Development Review' has responded to increasing interest in this subject by devoting its Summer and Fall 1996 issues to discussions on the role of business retention and expansion in economic development.
