Article Abstract:

The Royal Society of London has published an intensive study of the nitrogen cycle in Britain. Some results are disturbing. Included in the study are ways in which man has interfered with the natural nitrogen cycle. The European Economic Community (EEC) has imposed a ceiling of fifty milligrams of nitrate per liter of water. The Royal Society feels this regulation is too strict. Nitrogen pollution will be diminished by reducing the amount of free nitrate released.
