Research reveals public opinion insight

Article Abstract:

Research conducted at the Economics and Management of Agrobiotechnology Center (EMAC) at the University of Missouri-Columbia reveals that press coverage of biotechnology in the US over the past decade has been well balanced. The findings were gleaned from examinations of articles contained in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post and Daily Telegraph (UK). EMAC's research point to the presence of words such as 'franken foods' and 'superweeds' as reponsible for creating a negative image of biotechnology in general.

Job market challenges

Article Abstract:

Agribusinesses are in need of more marketing professionals and are advised to be extra careful in their selection to save on the high costs associated with new hires. While there is not a shortage of applicants, experts say there is a shortage of people with the right skills such as communications and knowledge of the agricultural market. This makes it even more imperative for agribusinesses to be proactive in hiring marketing professionals.
