Article Abstract:

A survey is conducted to find out whether the dollar sales volume is high, low or the same. Results reveals that thirty percent of all owners reported higher sales in the most recent three month period whereas twenty-three percent reported lower sales.

The percentage of sales changes of construction industry, manufacturing industry, retails, financial services and professional firms from the period 1998 to 2003 are presented. There is no improvement in sales trends of small businesses in June 2003.

Article Abstract:

The sales trends showed an upward swing in August 2003 as the net percent of owners reporting higher sales rose to a seasonally adjusted net 3 percent. The sales volume expectations went up nine points to a seasonally adjusted 29 percent.
