Successful entrepreneurship in Hong Kong
Article Abstract:
The economic, non-economic and psychological factors that contributed to the success of Hong Kong businessmen are analyzed. The economic factors which influenced the emergence of entrepreneurship are the open-market economy and voluntary exchange while non-economic factors include the limited political mobility within the colonial environment. The Chinese's high value for personal achievement, power and influence are among the psychological factors that spurred the entrepreneurship drive of Hong Kong businessmen.

Successful recycling through value-chain collaboration
Article Abstract:
The concept of product stewardship, in which manufacturers take responsibility for the environmental impact of their products, is extended to cover cooperation with various other firms involved in the product's life. The UK has set up the Centre for Exploitation of Science and Technology (CEST) for such a collaborative effort. The CEST has particularly focused on product recycling, which requires a multi-sectoral approach. The benefits to be gained from cross-industry collaboration are also discussed.
