An insight into the contribution of Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine public joint stock company (OAO MMK) in the ferrous metallurgy sector to the Russian economy is presented. Other companies that can also benefit from the experience of MMKs operation, efficient innovation techniques, investment, social and integration policies are highlighted.

Legal forms of joint-stock companies and corporate behavior in Russia
Article Abstract:
Organizational-legal forms of joint stock companies (JSC) in Russia are studied. The majority of JSCs in Russia are of the closed type. Op en joint stock companies have a high probability of a change in management, while there are no differences in performance between the two JSC types.
