First no, then yes: the Danish referendums on the Maastricht Treaty 1992 and 1993
Article Abstract:
The attitudes of Danish voters on their initial rejection of the Treaty on European Union (TEU) and their subsequent approval were studied. Danes rejected the TEU in a referendum held in Jun. 1992 and later gave their approval in May, 1993. The percentage of voters who first rejected the TEU was 50.7% while the percentage which approved it was 56.7%. It was suggested that Danish voters were not against membership in the European Union. Their initial rejection was an expression of a preference for an intergovernmental system in the proposed TEU.

The UK Presidency is tasked with handling the European Union's (EU) affairs in the country in an efficient and impartial manner. The Presidency oversaw the start of EU's enlargement to include countries in central and eastern Europe and presided in the creation of the European Monetary Union. Its most important achievement was improving the UK's relations with the rest of Europe. This also led to a change in British media's view of UK's membership in the EU into a more mature portrayal.
